Organic evo oil: taste and sustainability with reduced water footprint

Organic extra virgin olive oil is much more than a simple condiment. It is an authentic culinary experience born from environmental sustainability.

In our oil mill, in the heart of Puglia, we cultivate about 8000 trees on 30 hectares to produce our prized organic extra virgin olive oil. Through agricultural practices that respect nature and the prudent use of water resources, we create a high quality olive oil with a reduced environmental impact.

Organic oil production: a natural balance

Olio Ciccolella is produced from organic farming, respecting the ecosystem.

Since 2021 we have been a completely organic farm, adopting only sustainable agricultural practices, avoiding the use of pesticides.

Furthermore, we protect and preserve biodiversity and soil fertility.

Clean energy, waste management and sustainable materials for organic extra virgin olive oil

In our sustainability mission, we use photovoltaic system to power our mill with clean energy while reducing pollution. Furthermore, all production waste is reused as organic fertilizer in our fields, completing a virtuous cycle in which nothing is wasted.

Even the materials we use are recyclable glass bottles and recyclable aluminum caps while we have completely banned the use of plastic in all manufacturing processes.

Olio Ciccolella’s commitment to reducing the water footprint

A key aspect of our sustainable oil production is reducing our water footprint. Considering that extra virgin olive oil represents 50%-60% of the consumption of vegetable oils in countries that adopt a Mediterranean diet and that the agricultural area used for its production is very extensive all over the world, it is essential to limit the water consumption in its production.

At Frantoio Ciccolella we implement efficient irrigation techniques and systems to minimize the waste of fresh water, contributing to the conservation of precious water resources. To produce 1 kilogram of extra virgin olive oil we need about 20 liters of water, a considerably lower value than other food products such as red meat.

Choosing organic extra virgin olive oil means not only delighting the palate with an authentic taste, but also embracing a sustainable lifestyle. Every drop of this extra virgin olive oil represents a conscious choice for a greener future and a healthier planet.
